Skyrim board game is on its way

There’s a crowdfunding campaign that is going to held for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Boardgame. There are no details at this moment, though you can go up and sign up on the page of the game’s funding to get notified of all the developments and progress that happens before launch. It’s billed as “an epic co-operative board game of adventure across Skyrim for 1-4 players.”

Before it’s crowdfunding gets started, the game will be available as a preview on tabletop simulator. You might not be familiar with what a  board game is all about, being the new generation. An adventure board game is all about moving characters from point to point on a map to accomplish objectives. Things like quests and wars are usually done with one or two dice rolls, and the reward comes as equipment or money. Players gather up points and the person with the most points wins the game. It is expected to be almost like an abstract of an entire Skyrim game.

Sometime shortly, board game adaptations are going to be funded via Gamefound, and it’s part of the ongoing partnership between Bethesda and board game and RPG publishers Modiphius. Previously Modiphius made miniatures games like The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, and they’re supposed to be publishing tabletop roleplaying games based on Fallout and Dishonored.
